Your privacy

Last updated 19 October 2026

The short version

  • You can use Garden Planner without an account. Your garden stays on your device.
  • If you sign in, we save your gardens and houseplants so they follow you.
  • We never sell your data or show ads.
  • You can ask us to delete everything, any time.

What we keep

Account
Your email and name, or your Google sign-in. Your password is stored scrambled, never in plain text.
Your gardens
Layouts, plants, rooms, houseplants, journal notes and care ticks, so you can open them on any device.
Rough location
Your state or region, worked out from your internet address, to pick your climate zone. We don't use GPS or store your address.
How you use it
Which screens you open and what you add, so we know what to improve. This is tied to a random ID, never your name or email, and never includes what you type.
Feedback
Whatever you send us, and your email if you include it.

Who helps us run it

We share only what each service needs to do its job:

  • Vercel hosts the app.
  • Neon stores your saved gardens.
  • PostHog counts how features are used. It gets a random ID and counts like how many gardens you have, never who you are.
  • ipapi turns your internet address into a region.
  • Resend sends password reset emails.
  • Discord is where feedback you send reaches us.
  • Stripe handles payment if you upgrade. We never see your card.

Some of these store data outside Australia, mostly in the US.

On your device

Gardens you make without signing in are saved in your browser only. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Deleting your data

Email us and we'll delete your account and everything in it within 7 days.
